Emma Lewis is an award winning illustrator and writer from London, and creates work spanning both narrative and commercial illustration. She was the recipient of the BRAW Bologna Ragazzi Opera Prima Award for her debut picture book The Museum of Me and has been twice nominated for the Carnegie Medal and shortlisted for the World Illustration Awards. She has illustrated a number of books for children and is largely inspired by folk art, Modernist picture books and travel. Within the pages of her books she likes to examine different human perspectives and the absurd.

She is represented by Debbie Bibo.

Emma has run image-making workshops and lectured at various universities, festivals and conferences in the UK and abroad, including Tate Britain and Modern, the Cambridge Summer School for Illustration, the Salone Internazionale del Libro Torino, The South Ken Kids Festival and the Hay Festival.
